The Story…

It all began when Ben Richter [Lead Vocals / Guitars] and Geoff Ashcraft [Guitar] left behind their native republic of Texas to head into the unknown of Atlanta, GA in March of 2006. Two weeks prior, the duo had just released the debut album “Inside Out” with the Ben Richter Band. Upon arrival in the great state of Georgia, they quickly found Drummer and Programming Extraordinaire [covertly disguised as a church janitor], Josh Kirk. The band quickly began leading worship together and supporting the new album.

Together, they led worship and began traveling throughout the U.S and even into England and Wales for nearly a year before joining forces with producer Jason Hoard [Steve Fee, Kristian Stanfill, Shane & Shane]. In August of ‘07 they headed into the studio to begin work on a debut album. “Reverse This Dying Trend” began with a sense of urgency to get the message out through a captivating blend of melodies and instruments. The album was born out of a desire to see things change… Lead Singer, Ben Richter says “We realize it’s the things we leave behind that make a difference, the evidence that Jesus Christ has changed us from the inside out and given us the rescue mission to go and change the world…”

This passion for change led to The Museum teaming up with “Overlooked”, a non-profit organization created to expose people to the problems in our world and offer a simple way to make a difference. Through the support of people at shows and events throughout the US, the band raised thousands of dollars of support in 2008 to provide meals to starving children all across the world… They’ve recently began to provide water purifier pumps for those who have no clean water, and mosquito nets to protect families from malaria.

Seeing the huge need and these glimpses of hope has heavily influenced Ben’s writing. The band is currently back in the studio working on their new EP to be released April of 09. According to Ben, “as we look at the needs across our world, and the desperate state of our own nation, the EP is a call to action and the recognition that Jesus Christ is our only hope for recovery.”
